Bi-Annual Report to the City of Victoria

Report Topic: Food System Priorities

The UFT submitted its first bi-annual report to the City of Victoria Mayor and Council in December 2025, outlining both short-term and long-term priorities for strengthening our regional food system. To inform this report, the UFT gathered insights from 17 prominent food-system organizations including small farms, farmers’ markets, food-security groups, community centres, and local food businesses in our region.

Thank you to the many organizations and individuals who contributed their time and insight to this report. Building a resilient and sustainable food system is only possible when we work together—sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and strengthening the connections that hold our region together. Like a mycelium network, these relationships form the living web that makes true resilience possible.
